Jimmy Stubbs is the Chief Executive Officer of River Bank & Trust and serves on the Board of Directors. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in 1985 and a Master of Business Administration degree from Troy University in 2005. Jimmy currently serves on a number of business and nonprofit boards including the Alabama Bankers Association as Treasurer, the Montgomery Area Committee of 100, the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the YMCA of Montgomery Endowment Foundation. He also served as the 2017 Campaign Chair for the River Region United. Jimmy is a member of Leadership Alabama, Class of 2007, and the Wetumpka Lions Club.
Ray Smith is the President of River Bank & Trust and serves on the Board of Directors. He attended Gadsden State Community College and the Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University. He is the Past Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in Gadsden, Past President of the Gadsden/Etowah Industrial Development Board, Past President of the United Way of Etowah County, and Past Captain of the Gadsden Quarterback Club. He is a member of Gadsden First United Methodist Church where he has served as Chairman of the Board of Stewards, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and is currently serving as Chairman of the Finance Committee.
Lynn Carter is the President of Southeast Cherokee Construction, Inc., formed in 1984 with corporate headquarters in Montgomery, Alabama. In addition to her daily responsibilities in the management of Southeast Cherokee, she has been actively involved in numerous business organizations and nonprofit boards. Currently, Lynn serves on the Auburn Montgomery College of Business Advisory Board, the Air University Foundation Board of Trustees, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Women in Business Steering Committee. Lynn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Marketing from Auburn University Montgomery.
John Freeman is the owner of a real estate and development company, Freeman Land & Development in Gadsden, Alabama. John is a graduate of Jacksonville State University with a degree in Business Administration. He serves on the Jacksonville State University Board of Visitors and as Past Chairman of the Board of Directors for Riverview Regional Hospital, the Gadsden Etowah Industrial Development Authority, the Gadsden Etowah Chamber of Commerce, Gadsden Board of Realtors and the Gadsden YMCA. He is a lifelong member of the Gadsden First United Methodist Church.
River Bank & Trust Director, Banks Herndon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Auburn University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Alabama. Banks practiced law for 31 years and has been involved in land, timber and cattle businesses. He has been married to his wife Margo for 47 years. Including their daughter-in-law and son-in-law, they have 5 children and 4 grandchildren. Banks and Margo have been active in their church for many years and have led a young adult Sunday school class for the past 9 years. They live in Opelika, Alabama.
Charles Herron has worked in the land and timber business in Alabama for over 35 years. He is the owner and President of Rock Springs Land & Timber, Inc. and an ardent supporter of hunting and outdoor conservation efforts. Charles received the Governor’s Conservation Achievement Award for Conservation Educator of the Year in 2011. Charles has supported the Alabama Loggers Council, the Alabama Forestry Association, and is a member of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100.
Jake Kyser is the President of Jerry Kyser Builder, Inc., a company based in Montgomery, Alabama that specializes in commercial construction and real estate development. Jake received a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Auburn University in 1987. Jake’s current civic and community involvement includes the Greater Montgomery Home Builders Association Board, Association General Contractors of Alabama, Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100, Wright Flyers, and Troy University Advisory Council of Montgomery.
Shep Morris operates and serves as President of Morris and Morris Farms, a family farming operation consisting of three thousand acres of row crops and one thousand acres of timber. Shep is a board member of Choice Cotton Company, Autauga Quality Cotton Association, and First South Farm Credit. He is the President of the Milstead Farm Group, a cotton ginning operation located in Milstead, Alabama and the Macon County Farmer’s Federation. Shep serves as a member of the ALFA State Wheat and Feed Grain Committee and as a supervisor for the Macon County Soil and Conservation District.
Murray Neighbors currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board for River Bank & Trust. He is a developer of commercial and residential properties in Auburn, Alabama. Murray is a partner in the Auburn University Club, a private country club, and is currently developing the more than 200 acres surrounding the golf course as residential properties. Active in his community, Murray is a member of the City of Auburn’s Commercial Development Authority and has served on the Business Development Committee for the Auburn Chamber of Commerce and as the Treasurer of the Lee County Rotary Club. Murray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Auburn University.
Dr. Lucian Newman serves on the Board of Directors of River Bank & Trust. He is a General Surgeon practicing in Gadsden, Alabama. He is Chairman of the BCBS PMD Advisory Board and serves as Chief Medical Officer/Founder of ComplyMD Medical Software LLC. Dr. Newman also serves on the Board of the Alabama Wildlife Federation. He is the National Amputee Golf Champion-Arm Division 2007-2011 and the 2012 National Senior Amputee Overall Champion. Dr. Newman is a graduate of the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama School Of Medicine.
Boles Pegues, lll is an Executive Vice President and Board Director of River Bank & Trust. He has been in banking for over 30 years. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Auburn University and is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Banking. He is currently serving on the Auburn University School of Agricultural Alumni Board of Directors. Boles is involved in the mentorship programs in the Auburn University School of Business and Auburn University School of Agricultural. His community involvement includes being the past President and Director for Lee County Habitat for Humanity, Storybook Farm of Opelika and Kiwanis of Opelika. Presently, Boles is a Director for Kiwanis of Opelika. He is an active member of First Baptist Church of Opelika. He and his wife, Lynn, have two grown daughters.
Howard Porter is a graduate of Auburn University and has been involved in various aspects of the real estate business since 1972. He is a founding and current member of Porter Properties, LLC and is actively involved in development, management and sales of commercial, investment and residential real estate.
He also has active interests in the healthcare industry. Howard serves on the Board of Directors for River Bank & Trust and Youth for Christ USA. He is actively involved as an angel investor with interests in numerous business entities in Alabama and the Southeast U.S.
Larry Puckett currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for River Bank and Trust. Larry is the Dealer/Operator and President of Larry Puckett Chevrolet in Prattville, Alabama. Larry is a valued member of the automotive industry and his community. He serves on multiple business and non-profit boards including the Water Works Board for the City of Prattville. He is a past board member of the Prattville YMCA, Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, and the Trenholm Technical College Foundation. Larry has also served as a campaign chair of the River United Way and as chairman of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. Larry received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Auburn University.
River Bank Board Director, John Y. Reynolds received his Undergraduate degree in Political Science from Auburn University and a Master’s degree in Banking, Corporate Finance and Securities Law from Louisiana State University – E.J. Ourso College of Business. John is the Senior Consultant of the technology/document group of Computer Services, Inc., a customer service company that delivers innovative technology and compliance risk management needs to financial institutions and a variety of other industries. He previously held the position of Segment Executive for the East Coast with International Business Machines (IBM).
Following a successful career as President & CEO and Board Chairman of Southern Guaranty Insurance Comapanies, Jim Ridling was appointed to serve as the Commissioner of Insurance for the State of Alabama. Jim has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Jackson Hospital and the River Region United Way. He was also a board member of the Montgomery Airport Authority, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Central Alabama Community Foundation. Jim earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the Ozarks in 1967. He continued his studies at Michigan State University and Stanford University, CA.
Dot has worked with HomePlace Farms, Inc. located in Prattville, Alabama since 1985. She is a partner in a farming operation, HomePlace Partners and President of HomePlace Developers. Dot is a founding member of the Autauga Foundation, past President of the Prattville Service League, and a member of the Private College and Universities Facilities Authority. In 1970, Dot graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.
David Smith is a general partner of Smith Farm and Forest and HD&D Land Company. He currently serves on the Prattville YMCA Board of Managers and Board of Trustees, and the Board of the Louise M. Smith Development Center. David is an Elder at First Presbyterian Church in Prattville. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Sciences from Auburn University, a Master of Science degree in Marine Science from the University of Miami, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Louisiana State University.
Trey Starke is President of The Starke Agency. Under Trey’s leadership, The Starke Agency has expanded it’s customer base across the Southeast and become a nationally recognized insurance brokerage and risk management company. Trey has been actively involved in community organizations, currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Tukabatchee Area Council, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Montgomery Business Committee for the Arts. He is also a member of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100. Trey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama.
Vernon Taylor has been in aviation for 27 years. He served as a pilot in the US Air Force and later founded and directed two aviation service companies based in the River Region. He serves on various boards and is an investor in local-commercial and agricultural real estate. An active member in his community, Vernon serves on the boards of a local school, a church and is a Rotarian. He is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.
Dr. David Thrasher is a partner with Montgomery Pulmonary Consultants where he works as a Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician. He is an Associate Professor with the UAB School of Medicine. Active in his community, David has worked with the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts Tukabatchee Council, River Region United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs, Alabama Sheriffs Boys and Girls Ranches, Community Care Foundation, Alabama Department of Conservation Foundation, Leadership Alabama, and Child Protect. Mark Traylor serves on the Board of Directors for River Bank & Trust. He is President of Traylor-Porter Healthcare. Mark spent 10 years as an investment broker before joining the family business in 2001. As a fourth generation healthcare provider, he started Traylor Porter Healthcare in 2009. Currently, he serves as Vice Chairman of the Board for the Alabama Nursing Home Association and serves on several other business and nonprofit boards. Mark received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama.
Adolph (Andy) Weil, III of Montgomery, Alabama had a 31 year career in international cotton merchandising with his family’s company, Weil Brothers – Cotton, Inc. From 1995 through 2009, Andy served as President and COO of the company. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama, Hospice of Montgomery, Temple Beth-Or, and AlaTrust, Inc. Andy earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Charleston and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Alabama.
