River Bank & Trust Announces Promotions of Boles Pegues and Marty Freeman

Auburn, Alabama, June 22, 2022: River Bank & Trust's Chief Executive Officer Jimmy Stubbs is pleased to announce the promotions of Boles Pegues to East Alabama President and Marty Freeman to Lee County President.

A 37-year veteran of the banking industry, Pegues serves on River Bank & Trust's board of directors and is a member of the bank's executive management team. In 2007, Pegues was a cofounder of Keystone Bank, which merged with River Bank & Trust in 2015. Since then, he has led the bank's Lee County market. Now, his duties will encompass a more extensive scope as East Alabama Region President. Pegues is a graduate of Auburn University, Louisiana State University Banking School, and Alabama Banking School. He is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Auburn, Story Book Farm, and Lee County Habitat for Humanity. The community leader provides mentorship at Auburn University's College of Agriculture, Harbert College of Business, and First Baptist Church of Opelika, where he is a member. Pegues is a Baptist Foundation of Alabama board member and serves on its investments and administration committee.

Marty Freeman's banking career spans over 30 years - with 20 years spent serving the Lee County community. As Lee County President, he will continue working as a relationship manager and provide increased leadership in guiding the bank's initiatives in Auburn and Opelika. Freeman graduated from the University of Alabama, earning his bachelor's degree in corporate finance. Freeman is a graduate of Leadership Lee County and previously served as a board member of Boys & Girls Club of Lee County, youth sports coach in Auburn Parks & Rec, and a volunteer for Super 7 AHSAA football playoffs hosted by Auburn University. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Auburn, including roles as past president and board member. He and his family are members of the Church of the Highlands in Auburn.

"Boles and Marty are proven banking leaders, well respected among their peers, clients, and communities," says Stubbs. "Having them lead in greater capacities will strengthen our management team and help guarantee River Bank & Trust's continued success in Lee County and East Alabama."
