River Bank & Trust Named as an Auburn University “Top Tiger” Business
Bank has been named “Top Tiger “four years in a row.
PRATTVILLE, April 4, 2018: — River Bank & Trust will be honored at an awards luncheon on Friday, April 6th, when Auburn University recognizes the bank as one of 2018’s “Top Tiger” companies, the fastest-growing companies founded, owned or led by Auburn University alumni. The “Top Tiger” program is presented by Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business and Business Alabama magazine.
River Bank & Trust was formed and is led by 1985 Auburn University graduate Jimmy Stubbs, and ranks as one of t his year’s “Top Tiger” businesses. Founded in 2006, the bank has grown to be one of t he largest community banks in Alabama, based on total assets, with offices in Alexander City, Auburn, Daphne, Gadsden, Montgomery, Millbrook, Opelika, Prattville, and Wetumpka. This is the fourth consecutive year that River Bank & Trust has been recognized.

Stubbs was also selected to serve as a judge for the finals of the Tiger Cage Business Idea Competition to be held during the Entrepreneurship Summit on April 6th in the AU Hotel and Conference Center. The Tiger Cage Business Idea Competition is an annual competition to discover and reward the best early stage products, services or business concepts among Auburn University students.
The CPA firm of Warren Averett, LLC collects necessary financial information from the “Top Tiger” nominees and conducts the analysis. Final rankings are based on percentage of growth during the program time period. To qualify for “Top Tiger” consideration, companies must be founded, owned, or led by an Auburn University alumnus; the company must be in business for at least five years; the company’s revenues must be at least $250,000 for base year of evaluation period; and the company must operate in a manner consistent with The Auburn Creed. Nominations are evaluated on the basis of year-over-year revenue growth during the program time period. Nearly 300 nominations were submitted for this year’s program.
