Alabama-based River Bank & Trust has opened a loan production office in Decatur, Alabama, at 254 Moulton Street, extending its northern footprint and establishing its nineteenth location.
Ashton DeMent, one of the area's most recognized names in banking, will lead the bank's team as Decatur Market President. A lifetime member of the Decatur community, Ashton has built his robust 30-year career as a local financial leader and lender, specializing in mortgages, business lending, and private banking.

Ashton earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Millsaps College. He is a Decatur Rotary member and serves as the Decatur High School Athletic Booster Club president. Ashton and his wife Kale, a physical therapist, have three sons, Lawson, Banks, and Hampton. The family attends the First Baptist Church of Decatur.
