Guard Your Business
Businesses face fraud risks from every direction, from altered checks and unauthorized payments to convincing requests that seem legitimate. Putting the right safeguards in place can help you reduce risks before they become costly.

Protect Your Payments
River Bank & Trust offers fraud prevention solutions designed to help protect your business from check fraud and unauthorized electronic transactions.
Check Positive Pay*
- Help reduce check fraud by comparing checks presented for payment against a list of checks you’ve issued. Any exceptions can be reviewed before payment is made.
Reverse Positive Pay*
- Review checks presented for payment through Business Online Banking and decide whether to pay or return suspicious items before they clear your account.
ACH Positive Pay
- Review ACH transactions from companies you haven’t already approved and make decisions on items that may be unauthorized.
Electronic Payments
- Check fraud continues to be a concern. When appropriate, Business Bill Pay or ACH payments can reduce the need to mail paper checks that may be stolen or altered.
Dual Approval
- Require two authorized users to approve certain transactions before they’re processed, adding an extra layer of protection for your business.
*Check Positive Pay, Reverse Positive Pay, ACH Positive Pay and Dual Approval require enrollment and are not automatically included with Business Online Banking.

Build Good Habits
Double Check Payment Requests
- Always verify new or changed payment instructions or vendor banking information using a phone number you already know is correct. Never rely solely on a text or email.
Review Your Accounts Regularly
- Review your account activity frequently so you can identify suspicious transactions as quickly as possible.
Limit Employee Access
- Only give employees access to the accounts and services they need to do their jobs. Review user permissions regularly, especially when responsibilities change.
Train Your Employees
- Help employees recognize phishing emails, suspicious payment requests, and other common fraud attempts. A well-informed team is one of your best defenses against fraud.
Remember: River Bank & Trust will never ask your business to do any of the following.
